Amman, March 31 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship signed a memorandum of understanding with the King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) to enhance cooperation in developing Jordan’s digital business and entrepreneurship ecosystem by expanding the scope of the park’s virtual platform.
According to a ministry statement issued on Tuesday, the King Hussein Business Park Virtual Platform is the first fully integrated smart virtual business ecosystem in Jordan and the region, based on metaverse technologies.
The MoU aims to broaden cooperation to strengthen support for global, regional, and local companies of all sizes, including startups and entrepreneurial ventures, by providing an advanced digital environment that enables businesses and entrepreneurs to manage operations virtually. It also offers access to virtual office spaces and a comprehensive suite of digital services and features, including organizing and supporting digital and virtual events, facilitating communication with investors, companies, and government entities worldwide, and improving access to government services and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, KHBP CEO Ammar Izziddin, and Basheer Hinnawi, the founder and CEO of Hydra Software, a company specializing in software development and virtual reality technologies, and the platform's technical partner.
Smeirat said the virtual business park represents an advanced model for an integrated digital business environment, noting that the partnership will enable companies and entrepreneurs to access government services and digital tools through a unified platform, supporting startup growth and fostering innovation.
Izziddin said the virtual platform provides a cutting-edge digital environment that serves as an innovative model for a smart digital business city, characterized by simplified procedures, attracting local, regional, and international companies, and supporting innovation, business creation, and operations without geographical constraints.
He added that the park is working to expand institutional partnerships and facilitate access to markets and investments through an integrated system of virtual assets, tools, and digital services.
The virtual business park also offers a range of specialized virtual spaces, including buildings for startups and entrepreneurial companies, facilities for medium and large enterprises, a virtual theater for events and conferences, service buildings for companies, as well as platforms for education, training, and capacity building.
